Another success of the Engage (2009-2011) project was the administration of the Small Grants Programme.  This programme of small-scale funding of bicommunal collaborations has demonstrated that it can successfully bring together groups from both communities in the context of various projects.  Media impact and visibility are often significant depending on the nature of the public events. The SGP has succeeded in promoting a fair and well constructed image of Civil Society Organisations in Cyprus to a wide range of public groups.

The scope of the Small Grants Programme of the new Engage project will be aligned with the overall strategy of the project which now focuses more on promoting policy and action at the same time. The SGP will be conducted in complete alignment with the work performed by the Active Dialogue Networks (ADNs).

Therefore for each of the four areas explored by the ADNs, a Call for Proposals will be announced.  Projects will be funded based on their potential for sustainable collaborations and impact as well as successful advocacy and lobbying on the prioritised issues that each ADN identifies.  Four Calls for Proposals will take place in the areas of Gender and Diversity, Peace and Reconciliation, CSO Profile and Enabling Environment and Sustainable Development.

The proposal evaluation procedures will take place, in the same way as before, by an independent Evaluation Committee that will include the two Project Directors as well as influential members of both communities. For information on the results of completed calls please click here.
